BACC Seeks Accompanist

Job Description


The Bel Air Community Chorus (BACC), a non-auditioned community choir in Bel Air, Maryland, seeks an experienced and dynamic Accompanist. The Accompanist is hired by the Board of Directors in consultation with the Artistic Director and serves for a term of one fiscal year (July 1 through June 30) and is subject to an annual renewal or reconsideration.  The Board will be responsible for contracting an accompanist for each fiscal year. The Accompanist may also serve as the Assistant Artistic Director.

In consultation with the Artistic Director and the Board of Directors, the accompanist’s duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the duties and responsibilities listed below.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides accompaniment for the Chorus at all rehearsals as prescribed on the ensemble calendar. 
  • Provides accompaniment for the Chorus at all performances as prescribed on the ensemble calendar provided at the beginning of each concert season (September for Fall and January for Spring).
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Artistic Director or the Board of Directors


This is a paid position, commensurate with experience. Ideal applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Piano and at least one year of experience as a rehearsal pianist or accompanist in a choral setting. Experience working with adult choirs is preferred but not necessary.
